The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the San Jose Sharks at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The team has been experimenting with new forward lines following their recent loss in New York. Sebastian Aho will be playing alongside Martin Necas and Seth Jarvis, while Jackson Blake is expected to see more ice time as he replaces Necas' usual position with Eric Robinson and Jack Drury.

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is anticipated to start again, marking his fourth consecutive game. Notably, the San Jose Sharks are the only active NHL team that Kochetkov has yet to compete against.

The betting odds for tonight's game have been provided by Fanatics Sportsbook, listing the Hurricanes at -545.

The projected lineup for tonight includes forwards Necas, Aho, Jarvis; Robinson, Drury, Blake; Martinook, Staal, Svechnikov; and Carrier, Kotkaniemi, Roslovic. On defense are Slavin paired with Burns; Orlov with Chatfield; and Gostisbehere with Walker. In goal will be Kochetkov with Tokarski as backup.

Injury updates indicate Frederik Andersen is out for 8-12 weeks due to a knee injury sustained on November 22nd. Jesper Fast will miss the entire 2024-25 season because of a neck injury. Ty Smith is listed as a scratch for this game.

Power play units feature Aho, Jarvis, Necas, Svechnikov with Gostisbehere on PP1 and Blake, Drury, Kotkaniemi along with Roslovic supported by Burns on PP2.

Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., according to an announcement from the Carolina Hurricanes' official Twitter account.
