The Carolina Hurricanes continued their winning streak by defeating the San Jose Sharks 3-1 at SAP Center. Despite conceding an early goal to William Eklund, who scored after a trip into the net, the Hurricanes responded with three goals in the latter part of the game.
Seth Jarvis initiated Carolina's comeback with a goal in the second period. Sebastian Aho and Sean Walker added two more goals in the third period, securing the victory for the Hurricanes. Frederik Andersen made 24 saves, allowing only one goal.
This win marks Carolina's eighth consecutive victory, a feat they have achieved twice this season. The team has also managed to keep opponents to two or fewer goals during this streak, matching records from previous seasons.
Coach Rod Brind'Amour commented on the team's performance: "I thought it was a solid game. We gave them a goal where the guy crashes into the net - there's nothing we can do there. I thought other than that we were pretty solid."
Seth Jarvis extended his point streak to six games and is currently leading his team in goals. Taylor Hall also contributed with an assist, extending his own point streak.
Mark Jankowski played his 400th NHL game but saw his perfect shooting percentage end. Meanwhile, Brent Burns set a new milestone by playing his 911th consecutive NHL game.
Brind'Amour emphasized focusing on daily improvement rather than past victories: "The secret is not to look at it like that... We try and win that game, that day."
The Hurricanes will head to Los Angeles next for practice before facing off against the Kings on Saturday.
