UNC Health has announced a two-year extension of its title sponsorship for the UNC Health Championship, which will continue through 2027. The tournament, part of the Korn Ferry Tour, is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 1 at Raleigh Country Club in North Carolina.
The event, previously known as the Rex Hospital Open, adopted its current name and location in 2023. Dr. Wesley Burks, CEO of UNC Health, expressed pride in continuing their role as title sponsor: "UNC Health is proud to continue serving as the title sponsor for one of our state’s most exciting sports and charity events."
Proceeds from this year's championship will support the development of North Carolina Children’s, including a freestanding children's hospital. This project involves collaboration with Duke Health and is anticipated to open in the early 2030s.
Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin praised the partnership: “We are grateful to have UNC Health as part of the Korn Ferry Tour family... We are thrilled this tournament will continue supporting UNC Health and the new North Carolina Children’s hospital.”
The championship will feature 156 professional golfers and serves as an important mid-season stop on the tour. The top 20 players on the season-ending points list will earn PGA TOUR membership for 2026.
Spectators can enjoy various attractions such as free parking and shuttle services, local food vendors on-site, and half-price tickets on opening day. Additionally, proceeds will benefit several organizations including First Tee of the Triangle and Wake County Boys and Girls Club.
STITCH Golf remains the presenting sponsor for this event held at Raleigh Country Club—a course designed by Donald Ross that offers expansive views and is operated by McConnell Golf.
