Red Hat, Inc., a prominent provider of open-source solutions, has introduced new capabilities for its enterprise-grade internal developer portal, Red Hat Developer Hub. These enhancements are included in version 1.5 and aim to encourage adoption and enhance the developer experience for increased productivity.

Balaji Sivasubramanian, Senior Director of Developer Tools at Red Hat, emphasized, “As organizations turn to intelligent applications to gain a competitive advantage, streamlining development processes and maximizing productivity is imperative to getting these applications into production faster. The latest features in Red Hat Developer Hub are designed to not only help organizations increase adoption and efficiency, but also allow for a more tailored portal, providing developers direct access to the tools, templates, and components they need to drive innovation.”

A new feature, Adoption Insights, available as a developer preview, offers platform engineers an analytical dashboard showing how the Red Hat Developer Hub is used within their organization. This feature enables teams to identify successful areas and areas needing improvement, facilitating data-driven decisions to enhance user experiences.

The Red Hat Developer Hub Extensions Catalog, also available as a developer preview, gives users access to a catalog of dynamic plugins. With over 60 plugins, organizations can customize the Red Hat Developer Hub according to their specific needs, allowing greater flexibility.

Additionally, the RHDH Local, another developer preview feature, allows users to run a lightweight version of the Red Hat Developer Hub locally. This can help platform engineers make changes and test them quickly without deploying to a Kubernetes cluster, thus reducing cycle time and improving efficiency.

Red Hat Developer Hub 1.5 is now generally available, emphasizing the company's commitment to supporting organizations in delivering intelligent applications efficiently.
